Abstract

The analysis of strategic alternatives is a crucial task in the strategic management of business entities. This study focuses on the application of matrix methods in the strategic analysis of hotel business entities in Ukraine. The research aims to systematize scientific and theoretical approaches to defining matrix methods for analyzing strategic alternatives applicable to hotel business management.

The study employs various general scientific methods, including systematic analysis, synthesis, and generalization, as well as the hypothetical method, deduction, abstraction, and formalization. The theoretical foundation comprises scientific publications on strategic analysis and matrix methods of analyzing strategic initiatives.

The article examines the essence, content, and features of using primary matrix methods for analyzing strategic alternatives, outlining their advantages and disadvantages. It identifies the potential application of individual matrix methods to achieve strategic analysis goals for hotel business entities. The study proposes viewing the hotel business as a set of separate strategic business units operating in distinct strategic management areas. It presents an author’s perspective on the sequence of managerial decision-making regarding the selection and application of matrix methods in strategic management, considering the analysis purpose, identified strategic management areas, strategic business units, and the existing information base.
