Abstract
This paper focuses on analyzing Huawei’s strategy under U.S. sanctions, covering the period from one year before their imposition through 1 June 2024. The relevance of the topic lies in understanding how major technology companies respond to global challenges—particularly international sanctions, technological restrictions, and shifting market conditions.
Research Objective and Scope
The main objective of the study is to investigate Huawei’s strategic decisions, with a focus on its expansion into new markets such as India, Africa, and Europe. Additionally, the paper examines the company’s product diversification and technological innovation as key tools in its international positioning. To this end, the study includes a comparative analysis of regional strategies, an evaluation of the sanctions’ impact on operations, and an assessment of Huawei’s overall adaptation approach.
Methodology
To support the analysis, the research uses comparative methods, a critical review of secondary sources, and the examination of relevant statistical data. Furthermore, it explores the influence of technological restrictions and reputational risks on Huawei’s global market presence. The study also evaluates Huawei’s competitive positioning in relation to other global leaders, notably Samsung and Apple.
Key Findings and Conclusion
The findings indicate that Huawei has adopted a gradual, regionally adapted expansion strategy. Despite external constraints, the company has leveraged innovation and strategic alliances to maintain its market relevance. Ultimately, the research concludes that Huawei’s strategic responses have been largely effective and offers insights into its future development prospects under continued international pressure.
