Abstract
This article examines the formation and management of Ukraine’s foreign trade policy, focusing on trade in goods with the European Union (EU). It summarizes the historical development of Ukraine-EU relations, analyzes the main aspects of the free trade agreement, particularly the reduction of customs restrictions in mutual trade, and evaluates Ukraine’s foreign trade indicators with the EU up to 2022. The study also assesses the impact of the war on Ukraine’s foreign trade operations with the EU following the full-scale invasion, identifying challenges and prospects for deeper trade integration. Statistical data analysis, comparative market analysis, literature review, and information synthesis methods were employed. The findings provide a general assessment of recent events’ impact on Ukraine’s economy, especially concerning foreign trade with the EU, and underscore the necessity to deepen economic cooperation.
